The Menindee Memorial Loop Project: slow stitching

We invited creatives to take part in the Menindee Memorial Loop Project. Over evenings in January and March a diverse group stitched crosses on to natural fabrics to represent the mass fish deaths in the Darling River, down stream of Menindee Lakes.

Our completed stitching has been sent to Julie Paterson to be part of a larger collaborative work Julie is creating.

Julie Paterson, textile artist began this huge collaborative project as a response to the perilous state of the Baaka-Darling River.
